SPF, which stands for Sender Policy Framework, is an email protection system, that is used to validate whether an email message was sent by a certified server. Employing SPF protection for a given domain will stop the counterfeiting of emails created with the domain. In simple words: activating this feature for a domain creates a particular record in the Domain Name System (DNS) which contains the IP addresses of the servers which are permitted to send emails from mail boxes using the domain. The moment this record propagates globally, it will exist on all of the DNS servers that route the Internet traffic. When an email message is sent, the initial DNS server it goes through tests if it originates from an official server. If it does, it's sent to the destination address, yet when it doesn't originate from a server part of the SPF record for the particular domain, it is rejected. In this way nobody will mask an email address to make it look as if you're distributing spam. This approach is also referred to as email spoofing.

SPF Protection in Cloud Web Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for each domain name hosted in a cloud web hosting account on our cloud platform with only a few mouse-clicks. The option can be found in the Emails section of our innovative Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to enable it is to pick one of your domains from a drop-down menu and type in the hostnames together with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers that will be permitted to send emails from your email addresses. As an additional option you may also restrict the e-mails to be sent from your domain only when it has our MX records, i.e. when our servers handle the email addresses for it, not a third-party supplier. This solution provides you with the best standard of safety, but it is not applicable if only your web site is on our servers while the emails for the domain are taken care of elsewhere. Regardless, our SPF protection service will keep your emails protected from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection attribute is available with all of the semi-dedicated hosting service, so in case you host your domain names in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you'll be able to use the service effortlessly for any of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a very easy to work with interface, which means that you don't need to be proficient in the use of computers in order to secure your e-mail addresses. You'll simply have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be allowed to send emails from your addresses and shortly after that the updated record will be activated for the domain name that you have picked. As an additional option, we'll also give you the ability to control the outgoing email messages and secure your mailboxes even better by permitting email messages to be sent only when the domain in question features our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain name have to be taken care of by us and not by another company. Doing so you'll have even superior control and there will not be any chances for anybody to counterfeit your email addresses for malicious purposes.
